Position Summary:
This position reports to the Prefabrication Manager. The Intern will assist in the development and implementation of prefabrication processes in the commercial construction industry.
Major Responsibilities:
On a daily/weekly basis, the Intern will be expected to assist in the following:
- Monitor adherence to recommended safety procedures and good housekeeping.
- Provide process improvement support.
- Check production methods to ensure product quality.
- Develop and track standardized work.
- Capture lessons learned.
- Develop area layouts.
- Define Material flow through entire process.
- Track defined metrics.
- Participate in daily huddle, stretch and flex and daily end of shift.
- Develop tools, fixtures and production aids.
- Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Prefabrication Manager.
Basic Required:
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- High level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
- Oral and written communication skills.
Basic Preferred:
- Knowledge of work measurement, work standards, and time study methodology.
- Ability to show practical application of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office and AutoCAD.
Education:
- Majoring in Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering/ Industrial Technology Management.
