Position Summary:

This position reports to the Prefabrication Manager. The Intern will assist in the development and implementation of prefabrication processes in the commercial construction industry.

 

Major Responsibilities:

On a daily/weekly basis, the Intern will be expected to assist in the following:

  • Monitor adherence to recommended safety procedures and good housekeeping.
  • Provide process improvement support.
  • Check production methods to ensure product quality.
  • Develop and track standardized work.
  • Capture lessons learned.
  • Develop area layouts.
  • Define Material flow through entire process.
  • Track defined metrics.
  • Participate in daily huddle, stretch and flex and daily end of shift.
  • Develop tools, fixtures and production aids.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Prefabrication Manager.

 

Basic Required:
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
  • Oral and written communication skills.

 

Basic Preferred:
  • Knowledge of work measurement, work standards, and time study methodology.
  • Ability to show practical application of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office and AutoCAD.

 

Education:
  • Majoring in Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering/ Industrial Technology Management.
