UW Health Eastpark Medical Center: A Year of Record-Breaking Care

Betsy Ennis

It’s been a year since we wrapped construction and UW Health’s Eastpark Medical Center opened its doors to the community. Don’t worry, we didn’t get to far, (stay tuned for more exciting updates on the Proton Therapy Vault currently under construction), we are still on campus!

In its first year of operation, the 7-story, 4750,00-square foot outpatient facility has surpassed UW Health’s projections for patient appointments and volume.  The center is averaging record-breaking activity, with more than 1,050 clinic visits and 4,600 ancillary appointments each day.

The Eastpark Medical Center is drawing significant new demand, with 22% of patients new to UW Health and 27% seeking new specialty providers at the facility. This strong response proves the critical need for expanded access to care in Dane County.

The success of UW Health’s Eastpark Medical Center goes beyond the record number of patients seeking care. Its innovative design and complex construction are earning national recognition. The facility was recently honored with three prestigious awards: Daily Reporter’s Top Project, ENR’s Midwest Region’s Top Healthcare Project, and the BUILD Wisconsin’s Award.

From record patient volumes to national awards, Eastpark Medical Center’s first year is proof of what’s possible when innovation and construction come together.
