Meet Matt
Matt Roberts, Ironworker Foreman, has been with JP Cullen for 15 years and has never been laid off once. Read what he had to say about how his career has grown:
“Crazy to think when I first started 20+ years ago, I was crawling around on steel beams, not tied off, before we used boom lifts. So glad things have changed for the safety of myself and my fellow Ironworkers!”
Being able to work with some of the hardest working men and women in the business, being part of a brotherhood in this construction world, and knowing that so many people have your back. For me, it started when I was a kid. My dad was an Ironworker and would take me on jobs, and I was always amazed by the cranes and the people he worked with. I knew that’s what I wanted to do.
JP Cullen is such a great place to work; my wife earned a job here a few years ago!”

Well I’ve been with JP Cullen for 20+ years, the company has changed a lot since I started. One of the big things that I like about JP Cullen is the family atmosphere. The opportunities that they have given to me have help me grow as a person. For anyone interested in a career in the company go for it and see where it leads you.

JP Cullen
When I was looking to make a career change I was looking for a company to join that was family focused where I could work hard, make a difference in my community and not be seen as just another cog in the wheel. For as long as I can remember JP Cullen has been known as a family-owned company full of hard working people that gives back to the communities they serve, so when the opportunity to join JP Cullen arose, I jumped and haven’t looked back!

My first impressions of JP Cullen came from their presence at UW-Madison. The work they performed while I was a student and continue to do now on campus always stands out. Now I have had the opportunity to travel for projects nation-wide, which provides its own unique sets of challenges. The range of JP Cullen is truly remarkable.

One reason I like my job is the people I work with. I’ve worked with a lot of project teams over the years and interacting with people in the field has always been one of my favorite parts of the job.

Project Coordinator
JP Cullen
My first project with Cullen was a production line changeover at General Motors in Janesville – and there aren’t many projects tougher than a fast-paced Industrial shutdown. I really enjoyed the challenges of that project and those that have followed. I’ve been with Cullen for 16 years now.
