The Rock County Courthouse faced significant security challenges, including outdated entry protocols and insufficient surveillance, which compromised the safety daily of both staff and visitors.

Our team implemented a series of strategic renovations to transform the courthouse into a secure and efficient facility which included:

  • Consolidating Public Entrances: We restructured the courthouse layout to direct all public access through a single, secure entrance on the west side. This involved installing a metal detector and requiring visitors to remove items from their pockets for screening.
  • Upgrading Security Systems: We installed new security cameras, door controls, and a master control area to enhance monitoring and response capabilities.
  • Enhancing Accessibility: To ensure compliance with accessibility (ADA) standards, we replaced stairs with a ramp and elevator at the east-side entrance, making the courthouse more accessible for disabled individuals.
  • Parking Lot Improvements: We repaired and upgraded the parking facilities, including painting ramps white and installing LED lighting for better visibility and safety.

In addition, the courthouse increased the presence of security guards at the main entrance, providing a safer and more controlled entry process and improved the courthouse environment. All these enhanced safety, security, and surveillance measures ensure continuous monitoring and quick response to any incidents.
