Fifth Generation of Cullen Family Assumes Co-Presidency

Katie Muth

JP Cullen is announcing the selection of Jeannie Cullen-Schultz and George Cullen as Co-Presidents of the 128-year old General Contractor. Their selection will bring forward the 5th generation of the Cullen family, which is quite an accomplishment considering that only about 3% of family businesses survive into the fourth generation or beyond.

Jeannie Cullen-Schultz and George Cullen will replace late president, Ron Becher, who led the company for more than six years.

“Ron Becher did so much to move our company forward,” said JP Cullen Chairman Mark Cullen.  He added, “He established a solid foundation for Jeannie and George’s leadership of JP Cullen.”

Jeannie most recently served as JP Cullen’s Vice-President for Healthcare Construction. George was Vice-President for JP Cullen’s Work Procurement. This announcement is the result of a more than two-year process in which the company established a committee and utilized the services of outside advisors to determine the executive leadership succession needs of JP Cullen. The Succession Committee for the company considered many options before making their recommendation.

The selection of Jeannie Cullen-Schultz and George Cullen was based on their demonstrated success outside of the family business and their ability to move the company forward in service of JP Cullen’s clients, employees, subcontractors, partners and our communities.
