A major North American snack food manufacturer introduced a sustainability initiative aimed at water conservation across 27 of their processing plants. The project involves replacing spray nozzles in their production equipment, which are used for a variety of applications such as cleaning, coating, and lubrication. As the old spray nozzles wore out, this caused increased flow, wasting fluid and energy used to process, heat, and pump it as well as added costs for processing the wasted water.

This project will not only enhance operational efficiency, but will also significantly reduce water usage, aligning with the company’s environmental goals. This process will include removing and recycling old nozzles and replacing them in key areas of their production equipment and process areas. Due to these replacements, the project is projected to reduce the waste of over 451,000,000 gallons of water.

JP Cullen was brought on for the first installations at three critical pilot sites. Our field team kept detailed records from the pilot sites that were instrumental in finding opportunities to save money and stay on schedule. The successful planning, coordination, and execution at these sites led to us being recommended and awarded the full implementation program. JP Cullen is set to replace an estimated 75,000 spray nozzles across 27 sites and 36 departments nationwide, over the next six years.
