Meet the Crew: Cheyenne Larson

Tiffany Scuglik

This week are shining the spotlight on Cheyenne Larson! Cheyenne is a Carpenter Foreman for JP Cullen and has been in the construction industry for 15 years. We sat down with him to learn a little more about him.

What sparked your interest in the construction industry?

It was just by chance. I needed a job and got involved in carpentry. Once I got involved, I really liked all the different tasks that a carpenter manages. They do more than just one task which really got me interested in going down that path.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

It was the fast-paced hard work of the day that led me to the construction industry. It is the best feeling being able to visually see what you accomplished.

What is your favorite project you have worked on?

The Arctic Passage project at the Henry Vilas Zoo. I like to take my family there to see the work we did. For this project specifically, you can see all the concrete work we did.

Who has been the most motivational to you in your career?

My wife. She has been so supportive about the work I do and is so understanding of when I need to travel or work late. It means a lot to be able to have that support.

What is your proudest achievement?

In my work life, my proudest achievement has been to become a foreman and continuing to advance. I am now at a Level 2 Foreman.

In my personal life, my two daughters are my proudest achievements.

What are your top three highlights of your life?

My children and our new home. And I would say just my overall career path. I am no longer a member of the union but a member of Cullen.

What is your favorite memory?

My favorite memory would have to be the first time I rode a motorcycle with my dad side by side.
