Meet the Crew: Mike Potts

Tiffany Scuglik

Welcome to Meet the Crew!  We are going to be writing and posting about our awesome employees here at JP Cullen!

This week we sat down with one our Superintendents, Mike Potts, and asked him some questions.

Team Member Since:

2008

Reason for Choosing Your Profession:

In high school, I rode in rodeos, but after some time and a lot of bruises, I decided I needed a steady income.

What achievement are you most proud of?

First United Methodist Church on Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee in 2005.  It was a complete nightmare for me, but it was my first job as a foreman on a job from start to finish.

Who has been most inspirational to you?

Jim Weber, my prior (now retired) Ops Manager.  He was a mentor to me, even beyond the industry.

Tell us something we don’t know about you:

I play the banjo!

What is the funniest moment in your career?

There are two. I accidentally hooked a crane to an occupied porta-potty once. Don’t worry, no one was hurt!  The other is when I left a guy at Camp Randall as he was putting his hand on the door handle of the van we used to get to the job.  Guys that were there know what I’m talking about! Again, no one injured.
