This week we are shining the employee spotlight on Ryan Braukhoff! Ryan is a Cement Finisher Foreman and has been with JP Cullen for 14 years!
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Working outside is a big plus for me as well as being able to work/travel to different jobsites, each with their own challenges.
What sparked your interest in the construction industry?
Curiosity about how things are built. I also took a lot of shop classes in high school so I always knew I wanted to work with my hands.
Who has been most motivational to you in your career?
I have a couple of people, Rich McGuire for his motivational talks. (People who knew him will laugh about that one.) And Shawn Mielke because if I’m running into an issue on a job, he is always a phone call away with typically a good solution.
What is your proudest achievement?
Honestly, being able to drive around Wisconsin and point out to people the numerous projects I have worked on in my 14-year career at JP Cullen. I’m very proud.
What are your top three highlights of your life?
Getting married to my wife Heather, the birth of my first daughter Harley, and soon to be second daughter in June.
What is your favorite memory?
One of my favorite memories is when I was a kid. My grandpa had a farm around Clinton and there was a creek that ran through the backside of the property. When we were really little, he took us tubing down the creek and we found a bunch of clams so we opened them up and found a couple of pearls. Still have them in a baggy in my basement.
What is something that no one knows about you?
I always order 2 meals when I go out to dinner. I can eat a lot!
