A downtown Milwaukee bank branch will soon have a new look. The BMO branch at 2120 W. Wisconsin Ave, will undergo $70,000 in interior renovations, according to a permit filed with the city. The project will add glass partitions to three offices and a conference room as well as updated seating, new carpet and touching up paint according to a bank spokesperson.
The spokesperson said the refresh is part of the bank’s normal process for the branch’s life cycle. BMO does not have any other refresh plans for other local branches at this time, according to the spokesperson.
JP Cullen is serving as general contractor for the project and Columbus, Ohio-based Moody Nolan serving as the architect.
BMO is the third-largest bank in Wisconsin based on local deposits with $22.8 billion across 150 branches in the state, good for an 11.34% market share, as of June 30, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation data. It is the second-largest bank in the Milwaukee-area based on local deposits with $11.7 billion deposits across 65 branches in the seven-county region as of June 30, good for 13.3% market share.
Bank branches throughout southeast Wisconsin have been modernizing as banking transactions have moved digitally, eliminating teller lines and increasing the presence of universal bankers who can help customers with a wide array of needs.
