Meet The Crew: Jack Neuens

Betsy Ennis

Meet Jack Neuens, Safety Specialist at JP Cullen. He has been with JP Cullen for over a year.

  • What is your favorite thing about your job?
    • The variety of jobsites I get to see. Every day is something different.
  • What sparked your interest in the construction industry?
    • In college, I had a friend who encouraged me to “jump ship” from manufacturing to construction safety. I ended interning with Mortenson in the Spring of 2021 and really enjoyed the variety of work construction had to offer.
  • Who has been most motivational to you in your career?
    • I have been lucky to have a handful of strong mentors in my short safety career. The whole safety team (Alex, Chase, Scott, and Jeff) at JP Cullen have been great resources for me. It is great working with a strong team. Also, my girlfriend (now fiancé!) Lindsay has always pushed me to be better and has been a big encouragement in my career.
  • What is your proudest achievement?
    • Earning the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal while deployed to Iraq in 2016.
  • What was your journey in the Marines like?
    • I joined the Marines right after high school in 2013. I was stationed in California and became a radio operator. My role was to make sure communication was to up and running. I was deployed twice – Kuwait in 2014-15 and Iraq in 2016.
    • Deploying twice to the Middle East while in the Marine Corps.
    • Graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
    • Getting my Emergency Medical Technician License.
  • What is your favorite memory?
    • Back in 2016, my friends and I made a spontaneous decision to go to the Division Road Playoffs in Phoenix to see the Packers play against the Cardinals. This was the game Aaron Rodgers threw a Hail Mary to tie the game at the end of regulation. Unfortunately, the packers lost in overtime, but it was a great game and amazing memory.
  • What is something that no one (at Cullen) knows about you?
    • I played the saxophone for 7 years.
