Meet Julie Borgwardt! Julie is a Project Coordinator for JP Cullen. She has been with JP Cullen for 16 years.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
The people I work with every day.
What sparked your interest in the construction industry?
The first thing I remembered wanting to do when I was a kid was “build cool bridges”. While I obviously didn’t go the civil engineering route, I was pretty sure general construction would be a good fit for me, and it has been.
Who has been most motivational to you in your career?
The first superintendent I worked with was Tony Rothschadl. He taught me something about construction almost every day and I was lucky enough to work with him the first 5 years I’ve been with Cullen. Now I work with Jeff Schwasinger who has always been supportive in helping me advance in my career.
What is your proudest achievement?
Receiving the Daily Reporter Unsung Hero of the Year award and the Cullen Support Person of the Year award.
What are your top highlights of your life?
Being an aunt to 4 amazing nieces, Paige, Natasha, Miranda, and Darci, and 1 amazing nephew, Cameron.
Getting my acceptance letter to Purdue University. It’s a beautiful campus and I have a lot of great memories. I’m still friends with a lot of the people I went to school with.
What is your favorite memory?
Seeing one of my favorite bands (The Police) at Fenway in Boston on my birthday with my sister! Driving my Camaro on the track a Road America is a close second!
What is something that no one (at Cullen) knows about you?
I once met Bart Starr and I have his autograph!
