The Mount Horeb Public Safety Facility is a state-of-the-art complex that serves as the new home for both the Mount Horeb Area Joint Fire Department and the Village of Mount Horeb Police Department. This modern facility is designed to meet the evolving needs of the community, offering a variety of amenities that were not in the previous facility, including training and conference spaces, an emergency operations center, exercise areas, and a welcoming public lobby.

Inside, visitors will experience a harmonious blend of cutting-edge technology and traditional design elements, especially evident in the tastefully adorned engine house. The facility’s design fosters collaboration and efficiency through shared spaces like meeting rooms, break areas, restrooms, and an exercise facility.

A standout feature of the facility is the central lobby, which houses a museum that invites visitors to explore the rich history of the Village’s fire and police departments. The facility also includes a prominent tower, which is illuminated at night, serving as a beacon of safety and community presence.

Key features include an indoor training area, fast-exit garage doors with a drive-through truck bay, designated “clean-up” areas for post-call equipment maintenance, and secure vestibule. The entire building is equipped with panic alarms and includes sleeping quarters and a kitchen with direct access to the truck bay.

Serving multiple municipalities, including the Villages of Mount Horeb and Blue Mounds and various surrounding towns, this facility stands as a cornerstone of community safety, ensuring the well-being of the region’s residents.
