We were honored to receive a Wisconsin Safety Council Corporate Safety Award, an achievement awarded to only one company in each category. JP Cullen was selected as the recipient in the Medium‑Large Construction category, reflecting our continued commitment to safety excellence across every level of our organization.
The Wisconsin Safety Council’s Corporate Safety Award program recognizes companies throughout the state that prioritize a strong culture of safety and demonstrate exceptional safety performance. Award recipients are selected by an independent panel of safety, health, and insurance professionals. As part of the application process, we submitted detailed information outlining our 2025 safety performance, safety and health leadership practices, training programs, and overall safety accomplishments and goals.
One of the most significant accomplishments highlighted in our application was achieving our lowest experience modification ratio (EMR) ever, 0.38. Celebrating three consecutive years of high‑performing safety results in the construction industry is something we are extremely proud of. In 2025, our insurance broker notified us that our EMR had decreased to 0.38, down from 0.54 in 2024. Because EMR is calculated on a three‑year rolling average, this milestone directly reflects the hard work, accountability, and dedication to safety demonstrated by our team members over the past several years.
As a self‑performing general contractor working in high‑risk trades such as structural steel erection, precast erection, concrete, masonry, and carpentry, achieving a 0.38 EMR is a significant accomplishment. This level of performance requires a true organization‑wide commitment; planning safety into every operation, empowering employees to lead with safety, looking out for one another, and consistently executing safe practices in our daily work.
This recognition reinforces what we already know: safety is not just a priority at JP Cullen; it is a core value. We are proud of our team members who make safety a personal responsibility every day and who continue to raise the bar for excellence in our industry. We will continue building on this momentum as we strive to provide the safest possible work environment for everyone who steps onto our jobsites.
