Meet The Crew: Charlotte Frisch

Colleen Wischnewski

Charlotte Frisch was a Youth Apprentice during her Junior and Senior years at Oak Creek High School. Her interest in the construction industry, more specifically carpentry, started at a very young age. She graduated this year in June and signed on to continue her apprenticeship with JP Cullen as a carpentry apprentice. I sat down with Charlotte to learn a little more about her.

What sparked your interest in the construction industry?

Growing up, I watched HGTV and found interest in construction. I took classes in school that went along with the construction field and found it very interesting.

What do you enjoy the most about working at JP Cullen?

To me, it doesn’t really seem like a job, just something I do. And the people here are the greatest. I love how welcoming the company is.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

I like casework. A lot of it is fun to me. There is a lot of variety in the work. It is not the same thing over and over again.

Who has been most motivational to you in your career?

There are a lot of people who have been motivational to me in my career – probably my high school teacher who got me interested in this field, my family who has been very supportive, and my coworkers here at JP Cullen who treat me like family.

What advice would you give to someone interested in construction?

If this is what you like, do it! Don’t fret over what other people think about you, and take the opportunities as they are given to you.

What are your favorite hobbies?

I like relaxing in the sun, tanning, working out, and enjoying time with my family.

We are thrilled Charlotte is continuing her professional career with JP Cullen. A few of the projects she has worked on during her youth apprenticeship have been Franklin High School and Elementary School, UW-Milwaukee Windows, ProHealth Care Oconomowoc Clinic, MSOE Music Hall, Froedtert South Division, and UW-Milwaukee Sandburg Hall.

JP Cullen has 7 Youth Apprentices and 84 Apprentices and has a full program you can learn about here: Youth Apprenticeships | JP Cullen If you are interested in learning more about the program, reach out to Maurice Mueller (maurice.mueller@jpcullen.com).
